Tuscaloosa, AL Alabama baseball earned a weekend sweep of Valparaiso thanks to an 11-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The 17th-ranked Crimson Tide is now 8-0 on the young season. Valparaiso got out front early for a second straight day, plating one run in the top of the first. Alabama answered with a two-spot in the home half and proceeded to score in six of the seven innings for the run-rule victory. |

Tuscaloosa, AL A season-high 15 hits helped 17th-ranked Alabama to a 14-2 win over Valparaiso on Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the victory, the Crimson Tide improved to 6-0 on the season. Alabama wasted no time getting on the board on Friday, exploding for a six-run second. Valparaiso countered with a two-run third, but that would be all for the Beacons. |

Alabama baseball held off Manhattan for an 11-8 win on Sunday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium to complete the series sweep.
With the victory, the 17th-ranked Crimson Tide is now 3-0 to start the 2024 campaign. The Tide posted a pair of two-run frames in both the first and second to take the early lead, but Manhattan answered with a three-spot in the top of the third to keep things close. |

Tuscaloosa, AL Alabama baseball secured the series with a 15-0 victory over Manhattan on Saturday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the win, the 19th-ranked Crimson Tide improved to 2-0 on the young season. Alabama's offense came out hot early, tallying a run in the first before a pair of four-run frames in the second and third inning. The Tide crossed another run in the fourth and posted a five-spot in the home half of the fifth to push the score to 15-0, the eventual final. The Crimson Tide offense finished with 12 hits and eight walks on the way to 15 runs. TJ McCants and Mac Guscette led UA at the plate, both recording three-hit efforts. |

(Feb. 8, 2024) --- Arkansas has been predicted to win the 2024 Southeastern Conference baseball championship as voted by the league's 14 head coaches in the annual preseason poll released Thursday. The Preseason All-SEC First and Second Teams were also announced. Three different schools received first place votes to win the SEC championship. Arkansas led the way with nine votes, while LSU received three and Florida received two. The Razorbacks were predicted to win the SEC Western Division, followed by LSU and Texas A&M. Florida was the pick to win the Eastern Division, followed by Tennessee and Vanderbilt. |

Tuscaloosa, AL BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced each of its future 16 member teams' permanent baseball opponents on Thursday morning. Alabama will be paired with Auburn and Tennessee each year starting in 2025. Beginning in 2025, SEC baseball teams will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents and eight rotating opponents for a total of 30 conference games. Standings will be kept in a single-division format, eliminating divisional standings. The permanent opponents were determined based on a number of factors including geography, traditional opponents and strength of schedule. Auburn: The two teams have met 308 times in a series that dates back to 1896. Alabama leads the all-time series, 168-140. The Crimson Tide's record vs. Auburn: in Tuscaloosa (84-51) | in Auburn (56-63) | at neutral sites (28-26). Alabama and Auburn last met in the 2023 SEC Tournament, with the Tide earning a 7-4 win over the Tigers to eliminate AU from Hoover. Tennessee: The two teams have met 122 times in a series that dates back to 1897. Alabama leads the all-time series, 78-44. The Crimson Tide's record vs. Tennessee: in Tuscaloosa (46-18) | in Knoxville (26-24) | at neutral sites (6-2). SEC announces permanent baseball opponents format
Tuscaloosa, AL BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (Nov. 9, 2023) -----The Southeastern Conference on Thursday announced the two permanent opponents for each school in the future SEC baseball scheduling format. The format will take effect beginning with the 2025 season, the first season in which the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas will participate in SEC competition. As previously announced, beginning in 2025 SEC baseball teams will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents and eight rotating opponents for a total of 30 conference games. Alabama to Play in 2024 Frisco College Baseball Classic
Tuscaloosa, AL Alabama will be one of four teams to take part in the 2024 Frisco College Baseball Classic from March 1-3, Peak LLC in partnership with the Frisco RoughRiders announced. The Crimson Tide will be joined by Arizona, Dallas Baptist and Indiana as part of a three-day tournament at Riders Field, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, the Texas Rangers' Double-A affiliate. The weekend tournament will have two games per day with each team playing the other, three times in a round robin format. Tickets for the tournament can be purchased on a day-by-day basis in select seating sections with both reserved and general admission seating options available. Walk-On Tryouts for Baseball Scheduled for Sept. 13

Alabama head coach Rob Vaughn and the Crimson Tide baseball program will hold walk-on tryouts on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Students who are interested in taking part in the tryout can get more information by e-mailing bamabaseball@ia.ua.edu. All necessary forms for walk-on tryouts must be submitted at least one week prior on Sept. 6. A time for the event will be posted at a later date. |

Baseball Adds Anthony Papio to Tide Coaching Staff

University of Alabama head baseball coach Rob Vaughn officially announced the hiring of Anthony Papio on Friday morning. Papio joins the Crimson Tide staff after spending the last seven seasons at Maryland working in various roles, including the last two as an assistant coach.
"I'm fired up to welcome Anthony to Tuscaloosa," said Vaughn. "Pap played for me at Maryland and has coached beside me the last seven years. He's the most competitive guy that I've ever met. He's a winner and he loves his players. I could not be more excited to have him and his fiancé, Ally, join us down here at Alabama." |

Shortstop Jim Jarvis became only the third Crimson Tide player awarded an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award. He joins Taylor Dugas (2011) and Kyle Overstreet (2013) as Alabama players who’ve taken this honor. |

Alabama Names Rob Vaughn Head Baseball Coach

Rob Vaughn, the 2022 and 2023 Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year, has been named head baseball coach at The University of Alabama, Director of Athletics Greg Byrne announced on Monday. Vaughn, who becomes the 33rd head coach in Crimson Tide baseball history, will be formally introduced at a press conference on Tuesday, June 13.
"We are thrilled to welcome Rob Vaughn as the next head baseball coach at The University of Alabama," said Byrne. "I talked to a number of people throughout this process and was so impressed with Rob from the start. He is one of the young, bright talents in college baseball and has done an excellent job leading Maryland's program. The success on the field speaks for itself, but even more impactful were the conversations with those who have played for Rob. Sewell-Thomas Stadium will host the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional from June 2-5, with Alabama baseball's postseason beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
The Crimson Tide will square off with Nicholls. Fans who are unable to attend can catch the Tide's Regional opener on ESPN+ with the duo of Richard Cross and Lance Cormier on the call. |

The No. 15-ranked Alabama men's golf was eliminated from the 2023 NCAA Championships Sunday in the fourth and final round of stroke play.
The Crimson Tide ended championship play with a 72-hole total of 1,141 (290-280-289-280) to close the event which tied for 11th place overall. |
