Bama players are adjusting to practice music, other changes

The change to Alabama football practice was obvious the moment media members walked through the door for the first observation period at Mal Moore Athletic Facility since 2021.

As players ran through drills, a cluster of speakers on the concrete near the field blasted out British DJ Endor’s remix of Danzel’s “Pump It Up!”

Sears Named to the Wooden Award Ballot

Tuscaloosa, AL

Alabama men's basketball guard Mark Sears has been named to the 2024 John R. Wooden Award national ballot, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Saturday.

Sears is one of 15 players in America considered for the Wooden Award All-American Team and the Wooden Award Trophy.

Bama Gets Run Ruled in Game Two to UF Sunday, 11-2

Alabama fell in Sunday's game two to Florida, 11-2, in five innings as the Gators clinched the weekend series.

Similar to game one, Alabama (19-3, 0-2 SEC) fell behind early after Florida (21-3, 2-0 SEC) plated a pair of unearned runs in the first inning.

Bama Drops Series Opener to Florida, 2-0

A pair of unearned runs were the difference in a low-scoring pitcher's duel Saturday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium, as Alabama dropped its conference opener to Florida, 2-0.

Alabama (19-2, 0-1 SEC) fell behind after a two-run single in the top of the second plated a pair of unearned runs for Florida (20-3, 1-0 SEC).

Men's Basketball Captures Win over Hawgs, 92-88

Tuscaloosa, AL

The No. 16/17 Alabama men's basketball team came back from double-digit deficits in both halves, trailing by as many as 15 points, to capture a 92-88 overtime victory against Arkansas on Senior Day in Coleman Coliseum.

With the victory, the Crimson Tide (21-10, 13-5 SEC) secured a top-four seed in The SEC Men's Basketball Tournament.

Baseball Finishes with Pair of Wins over Lipscomb

Tuscaloosa, AL

A long day for Alabama baseball finished with a pair of wins over the Lipscomb Bisons.

The 13th-ranked Crimson Tide took game one of the doubleheader, 20-13, before a 10-1 victory in the nightcap.

With the pair of wins, the Tide is now 14-1 on the young season.

Men's Basketball Signee Derrion Reid Named to the
Naismith All-America Team

Tuscaloosa, AL

Alabama men's basketball signee Derrion Reid has been named to the Jersey Mike's Naismith Boys High School All-America Honorable Mention Team, organizers announced Wednesday.

A five-star prospect, Reid is rated as the No. 8 player in the country and the No. 5 small forward the country by ESPN.

Mark Sears Named a Finalist for the Bob Cousy Award

Alabama men's basketball guard Mark Sears was named a finalists for the 2024 Bob Cousy, the Naismith Awards announced Monday.

Joining Sears on the list is Houston's Jamal Shead, Marquette's Tyler Kolek, Purdue's Braden Smith and UConn's Tristen Newton.

3-Run 7th Lifts Baseball to 8-7 Win Over Troy

Alabama baseball used a three-run seventh inning to defeat Troy, 8-7, on Wednesday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Alabama was first on the board on Wednesday, crossing a run in the second, but Troy answered in the top of the third with one run of their own.

Barker, Nye and Cody Earn SEC Awards

Three student-athletes from the Alabama women's basketball team earned 2024 Southeastern Conference postseason awards, the league office announced Tuesday.

Sarah Ashlee Barker was named First Team All-SEC, Aaliyah Nye honored as Second Team All-SEC and Essence Cody recognized on the All-Freshman Team, giving the Crimson Tide three starters as all-conference performers.

Alabama baseball suffered a 7-5 loss to No. 23 Dallas Baptist in extra innings on Sunday afternoon at Riders Field. The 15th-ranked Crimson Tide finished 2-1 in the Frisco Classic and is now 11-1 on the year.

No. 18 Alabama Drops, 5-2, to No. 7 Kentucky

Matias Ponce De Leon and Enzo Aguiard paced the No. 18 Alabama men's tennis team (10-6, 0-1 SEC) in its Southeastern Conference opener against No. 7 Kentucky (11-2, 2-0 SEC) on Sunday.

Ponce De Leon and Aguiard captured wins in singles action, however Kentucky would go on to claim the match 5-2.

Kentucky found an early lead with a pair of doubles victories on courts three and one, respectively.
