Tuscaloosa, AL • Bama Gymnastics Loses at Kentucky, 197.825 - 197.375 •
The No. 13 Alabama gymnastics team was edged out by the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats Friday night in Memorial Coliseum, 197.825-197.375.
Despite earning a season-best score for the Crimson Tide, the Wildcats posted their top team score in program history to pull out the victory. Alabama's total included its fifth-highest uneven bars score in program history, a 49.625, and its highest at an away meet during the regular season in program history. Senior Makarri Doggette headlined the Tide's competition, scoring her second career perfect 10 on the uneven bars. It marked the first perfect score by an Alabama gymnast since both Doggette and Luisa Blanco accomplished the feat on April 2, 2021 at the NCAA Regional finals. |
