A late goal by Kate Henderson was the difference for the No. 7 Alabama soccer team (2-0) in a 1-0 victory over UAB (0-2) on Sunday.
Henderson received the ball off the head of Marianna Annest near the six-yard box. The UA forward turned and fired through traffic to find the back of the net in the 80th minute. The Game: - The game sat tied through 80 minutes as Alabama paced the match in shots, 14-0, with eight shots on goal. - With 10 minutes to play, Annest played a ball forward and into the box towards Henderson. - Henderson trapped, turned and fired the shot through traffic, hitting the left post before bouncing into the net. - The goal was the first this season for Henderson and her 10th at Alabama. - Annest registered her first assist of the season, fourth for the Tide. - Coralie Lallier earned her first collegiate start, playing all 90 minutes in goal. |
