• 85 Alabama Student-Athletes Earn SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll Accolades •

The University of Alabama placed 85 student-athletes on the 2022 Fall Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Thursday.

Alabama's football team saw 32 of its student-athletes earn a spot on the honor roll, including All-SEC honorees Kool-Aid McKinstry, Will Reichard and Bryce Young, among others. Also included was College Sports Communicators Academic All-District performer Seth McLaughlin, who graduated Summa Cum Laude in the summer of 2022 with a perfect 4.0 GPA and is currently pursuing his master's degree.

A total of 18 members made the list from the SEC regular season champion Alabama soccer team, which is coming off a record-breaking year including making its first-ever appearance in the NCAA College Cup. Meanwhile, the Alabama volleyball team had the best percentage of representation on last fall's list as 15 of the 16 members if the 2022 squad were recognized by the league.

The men's cross country (nine) and women's cross country (11) teams were also honored as they combined to put 20 names on the list. All-American Flomena Akekoi, who helped the Tide to a program-best fourth-place finish at the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships last November, highlighted the women's side along with SEC Freshman of the Year Hilda Olemomoi. Meanwhile, Hillary Cheruiyot was recognized from the men's team after earning All-South Region honors last fall.

To earn a place on the honor roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.0 or better grade point average for either the preceding academic year or their career and be a sophomore or better in academic standing. The Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on the 2022 spring, summer and fall terms.
