The Alabama rowing program's Third Varsity Eight+ crew received Boat of the Week honors after its performance in the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite in Oak Ridge, Tenn., the league office announced Wednesday.
The 3V8+ crew was one of five Crimson Tide boats to claim a first-place finish last weekend against Wisconsin and North Carolina, with all three teams receiving votes in the Pocock/CRCA Week 1 poll. |

Alabama rowing opened its spring season Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa, hosting Eastern Michigan in an exhibition-style race.
In the sprint portion of the dual, the Crimson Tide sent four different Varsity 4+ crews onto the water with Lauren Schneiderman's crew crossing the line in 10:01.27. Four additional Varsity 8+ crews took to the water as Reagan Labiak's crew led the pack with an 8:19.26 finish with Ashley Sizelove's crew on its tail, finishing only 0.6 seconds behind (8:19.86).

• 2023-24 Season Begins at the Head of the Oklahoma •
Tuscaloosa, AL OKLAHOMA CITY – The Alabama rowing program will open its 2023-24 season this weekend at the Head of the Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. This event will be the first of two regattas the Crimson Tide will compete in this fall, and the fifth time in program history that Alabama will race at the Head of the Oklahoma. UA will compete in three races on Saturday with two crews in both the Collegiate 4+ and Collegiate 8+. Before the day is done, the Crimson Tide will also race five pairs in the Collegiate 2-. After this weekend, Alabama will return to Tuscaloosa for the Head of the Black Warrior River on Saturday, Oct. 28 in what will be the final event of the fall. The Tide will then resume next spring back at home for a dual race with Eastern Michigan on Sat., March 2. • Twelve Alabama Rowers Earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete Honors •
Tuscaloosa, AL
Twelve student-athletes from the Alabama rowing team earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, the organization announced Friday.
Alabama, who competes in the Big 12 for rowing, joined Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas as the only conference members with representation on the list. |

Tuscaloosa, AL • Rowing Wraps Up Weekend at the Big Ten Invitational •
Alabama rowing concluded its weekend at the Big Ten Invitational, bookending the regatta with eight top-two finishes.
The competitive weekend regatta featured six programs that were either ranked or receiving votes in this week's coaches' poll. Friday featured two sessions worth of racing for the 16 schools in attendance, with the final session being held Saturday morning. |
