Alabama softball solidified its coaching and support staff heading into the 2024 season, with Adam Arbour moving into a new role as a third assistant coach while Ryan Iamurri was elevated to a full-time position as the Coordinator of Player Management.
"Adam Arbour and Ryan Iamurri are two of the best people I know," UA head softball coach Patrick Murphy said. "We are so fortunate to have both of them in our program right now. They are both former national champions at Alabama and know how important softball is to our community." Arbour's primary role as an assistant coach will be working with the Crimson Tide hitters and catchers. He was the Coordinator of Player Management last season after previously serving as a volunteer assistant with Alabama from 2011-14 and 2015-17. He began his softball career as a student manager at the University of Michigan under Hall of Fame head coach Carol Hutchins and later served as an assistant coach at the University of Iowa. He also worked as an account executive at Blast Motion and was a high performance coach and trainer in Ann Arbor, Mich. In her new role as Coordinator of Player Management, Iamurri is responsible for gathering and interpreting data for all positions on the field, coordinating analytics for both offense and defense, as well as incorporating new technology for the team and staff. She was previously a volunteer assistant with the team over the past two seasons and played with the Crimson Tide from 2011-14 as part of three SEC championship squads and the 2012 national championship team. |
