Tuscaloosa, AL • Softball Falls in Sunday Slugfest as UT Takes Series •
Sunday's series rubber match between Alabama and Tennessee provided plenty of excitement, but the Lady Vols ultimately held on in a back-and-forth slugfest to win, 7-5, and take the weekend series over the Crimson Tide.
After a scoreless first inning, Alabama (24-10, 2-4 SEC) jumped on Tennessee (26-2, 8-1 SEC) in the second, scoring two runs to chase starting pitcher Payton Gottshall before game-one winner Ashley Rogers (10-0) entered in relief and got out of the jam, limiting the damage to two runs. |
